Employee Engagement

Communicate . Listen . Engage

Engagement Counts

So what is employee engagement anyway?

It is the degree to which employees are willing to give 'of them self' to the company. The higher the engagement, the more effort they put into work and the less likely they will leave.

There are many actions you can take to create the kind of work environment where your team will give 110% work effort; regardless of what else is going on in the company.

It really counts when you improve employee engagement; your results and success depend on your team's effort!

How can you tell if your employees are engaged?

Engaged employees are attentive, they look out for their teammates and the company; not just themselves.  They are happier at work and get more work done. When they feel good about their job and feel valued, people are less likely to be sick all the time or leave for another opportunity.

5 Easy Ways to Connect With Your Team

  1. Ask questions. Where do you get stuck? Tell me about your successes? Do you feel recognized and valued? How is your energy? These questions really connect to people feel more human and nurture an organic desire to contribute.
  2. Create space and form trust. Provide people with opportunities to solve dilemmas on their own. Giving employees autonomy demonstrates trust and improves fulfillment. When employees know that a leader supports them, they show up in amazing ways. They become more accountable, it increases loyalty and reduces turnover
  3. Don’t refer to them as ‘Resources’. Use language like my team, our associates or our people. Find ways to relate to one another as human beings versus cogs in the wheel or tools to accomplish work.
  4. Give them feedback. Recognition of your team’s triumphs while guiding their growth must be core values of every leader. Genuine employee appreciation boosts morale, and mentoring allows people to develop skills that will increase their effectiveness and satisfaction
  5. Enable personal goals, not just professional. Leaders may think outside projects draw focus away from work, but in reality, they help their team feel motivated and fulfilled. Consider investing in outside pursuits through time or money. Even though it may not relate directly to what they do at work, you’ll find it directly improves their engagement.

When you treat people like they matter, that what they think counts, that they are truly valued and appreciated there is absolutely no limit to what can be accomplished together!

Dots Engagement Solutions

Confidential advice and guidance based on the 'inside scoop' from the people who know best...your team!

Contact us today if you want to improve employee satisfaction and motivation!  We give your employees the chance to provide insight, in confidence, without fear of retribution - often they will open up to a third party more than someone they work with.

Some options include:
  • Group or One-on-One Interviews - we meet with your people to gather insights and report back with the 'real goods' about how they feel about the workplace and provide you an overview to gauge your employees' satisfaction and morale.  By understanding the perceptions - both positive and negative - you can develop meaningful action plans to create the best work experience ever.
  • Custom Confidential Workplace Survey - we will design a custom survey for gathering feedback about the employee experience at your company. You'll receive a report back with recommended action and communication plans.
  • Exit Interviews - once someone has decided to leave, they are often ready to offer suggestions for improvements, particularly to a third party. We act as an objective party, conducting interviews with departing employees to determine their reasons for leaving and to gather feedback for improving your workplace.
